Clever Fish and The Blue Jackal

The Fish That Were Too Clever is now fully finished besides finding a way to seal it. I'm thinking of using a matte spray varnish to finish it, but I'm going to do a couple tests to see if it will affect the color too much. Any other ideas for sealing a gouache painting on wood?

I also have a finish for The Story of The Blue Jackal which can be found here. Like clever fish it has yet to be sealed. I might add a little bit more vegetation to the ground, it's still looking a little too plain down there.

ahhh i love these so much!! I hope you bring them to the all group crit =D

For the vegetation in the second one, i wouldnt put too much in... i like the way the flowers are working now, they have a nice pattern to them :0 maybe one more in the very far left corner by the fence, around that area. Its so nice looking though :0 i love your woodwork <3

They will definitely be at the group crit, don't worry! Yeah, I'm going to leave the plants alone for now, but I might go back in later.

Over the course of my final semester at Montserrat College of Art I will be creating a series of illustrations for the stories of the Panchatantra. The Panchatantra is a collection of Indian animal fables dating back to the 3rd century BC, though the stories have been around in oral traditions for much longer. At its heart it is a collection of stories based on animal stereotypes that demonstrates the Hindu principal of nīti. Nīti is hard to translate, but it roughly means "the wise conduct of life".
